- Biography:
- Hi, I'm 61, grew up in Williamstown and have lived in the Berkshires all my life. I'm an RN with a job history of Emergency Care (25 years Ambulance/several years hospital CCU), and 12 years as Health Services Administator of a local city school system. I now work part-time as a school nurse.
I think my story is different than most. In August of 2001, I read "think of what used to excite you as a child". Immediately I remembered I used to love to take pictures with my old Brownie camera. So I went off to a discount store to buy a camera. Knowing nothing about them, I chose a 35mm Minolta because I loved the way it sounded when I turned it on- like press cameras at a tennis match.
Before using, I brought to a favorite place in Nature and, in the style of the Native American, asked the Spirits of Nature to co-create with me. In return, I promised to try to maintain a sense of reverence when photographing. I also promised to honor Them with every photograph taken. They have and I do. No photograph is ever manipulated (except to occasionally bring colors back to look like the original) and all are developed at a one-hour photo lab. You might be as amazed as I am with the results.
