Artist Statement:
My Lexan relief works and paintings on canvas are about color and movement. Created with iridescent and interference pigments, the visual appearance of my art shifts with the viewer’s vantage point offering constantly changing perceptual experiences. The translucency of the reflective plastic in the reliefs intensifies the shifts of light and tones and contributes to the illusion of space. My personal connection with nature informs my work including composite memories of special geographical places and aerial views of the earth. While my paintings are abstract, they are ultimately about the changing affects of color and light in nature and landscape.
