Artist Statement:

A bookstore with a selected general used and antiquarian stock emphasizing the arts (artist monographs, art history, crafts, architecture and photography). Other subjects include history (regional, US and the world), natural science/gardening, literature, music, theater, cookery, and sport. Open by chance or appointment.

Biography:

After 1960s college and military service, and graduate school and more military service (National Guard call-up) I moved to New York City and started a publishing career in children's books (Scholastic Books and Random House). I left publishing to open (1981) a used bookstore in New Lebanon, NY. That business has been phased into my North Adams store. The business is now at the Eclipse Mill Artist Studios, a live-in/commercial condominium complex at the historic Eclipse Mill in North Adams, MA.
