Artist Statement:: I�m drawn to pieces where the technique is clean and obvious. When someone sees my work for the first time I hope their reaction will be one of surprise and an instant understanding of the materials and process. Even when I spend months working out a design I am happy with, I hope the viewer�s reaction will be something along the lines of: �Wow, of course, why didn�t I think of that?�

Before turning to art, most of my background was in manufacturing. Throughout my progression from screen printing and drafting to mechanical designer and engineer, I was always fascinated by alternative uses for common materials. My work is also often environmentalist in nature and inspiration. This is expressed through the use of recycled and repurposed materials in an effort to draw attention to our wasteful consumption of natural resources and encourage people to consider the possibilities for reuse of what�s normally thrown away .
